Hi, my name is Kristina. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2016 when I was 18. At the time I had just moved into my first college apartment(three days after having my appendix out). It was my first steps into the real world and I had no clue what I was doing. Literally. No. Clue. As an 18 year old I wanted to go party and live it up in the party scene. I quickly learned that with all of that fun came a lot of pain. In the end I decided the party life was not for me!
Though it took a while after those three years I can finally say, although not in remission, I am in a better spot in UC and life then I thought I would be. I live in a small town in Iowa with my fiance, Jake, our two cats, Bonnie and Clyde,and our puppy, Cyrus. It’s easy to say that life is never boring.
